FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) ? Former Arkansas coach Bobby Petrino and his mistress exchanged more than 4,300 text messages and nearly 300 phone calls over the past seven months ? on game days, before dawn and even as the police report that hastened his downfall was being released to the public, according to a review of his business cellphone records by The Associated Press.
The messages, among some 300 pages of records released under a Freedom of Information Act request, appear to include picture and video files, though there was no way to verify the content. But the records clearly show a married father of four in frequent contact with Jessica Dorrell, a 25-year-old former Razorbacks volleyball player.
Petrino was fired Tuesday night for failing to disclose his relationship with Dorrell, whom he hired last month without disclosing his conflict of interest or the fact he had once paid her $20,000. Athletic director Jeff Long said he had determined their relationship had been ongoing for a "significant" amount of time, but he did not say for how long.
The phone records show that Petrino remained in close contact with Dorrell following the April 1 motorcycle accident in which Petrino suffered four broken ribs, a cracked neck vertebra and scrapes and bruises
That day, Petrino and Dorrell went for a motorcycle ride on a two-lane highway southeast of Fayetteville and skidded off the road. Petrino and Dorrell talked for 16 minutes earlier that day before the crash at 6:45 p.m., and they also had a 22-minute conversation the following day ? while Petrino was apparently still in the hospital recovering.
Petrino's accident report was disclosed by state police on April 5, and the two talked 11 times that day. That included a pair of 2-minute calls around 3:30 p.m., when police were releasing the report that for the first time exposed her presence at the accident.
Later that evening, as questions swirled about his future at Arkansas, Petrino exchanged four calls with his agent, Russ Campbell, totaling 10 minutes.
The cellphone records show Petrino and Dorrell were in contact at least as far back as Sept. 12. The university provided nearly seven months of Petrino's business cellphone records, and that is the first date listed. Among the findings:
Petrino, a married father of four, exchanged 91 texts with Dorrell on Sept. 13 and 84 texts with her over five hours on Oct. 28, the day before a game at Vanderbilt. On Oct. 17, the two swapped 73 text messages, and on four days in a row in the week before a loss to eventual national champion Alabama, Petrino called Dorrell early -- at 5:52 a.m., 6:35 a.m., 5:49 a.m. and 7:55 a.m.
The day Arkansas beat Troy, the two exchanged 70 texts. They exchanged 26 texts the day Arkansas beat Mississippi State and four following the Razorbacks' loss to LSU on Nov. 25. Dorrell sent Petrino during Arkansas' Cotton Bowl win over Kansas State, though the coach didn't reply until the following day.
The 51-year-old Petrino built Arkansas into a national power, including a 21-5 record over the past two seasons and a No. 5 ranking in last season's final AP poll. He was expected to lead the Hogs on a national title run next season, but his career was effectively ended the day of the accident.
Petrino didn't disclose her presence on the ride until the police report was issued; he told his boss, athletic director Jeff Long, about 20 minutes before the report was released to the public.
The records show Petrino's six-minute call to Long at 3:11 p.m., the call during which the coach first told Long of his inappropriate relationship with Dorrell and her presence at the accident.
Petrino has issued a lengthy apology and said he was focused on trying to make amends to his family.

Welcome back, Gleeks! "Glee" may have been off the air for two months, but back at McKinley High, things haven't changed a bit. Well, except for the fact that Quinn Fabray is now temporarily paralyzed from her car accident.
As for Rachel and Finn's impromptu wedding? It didn't happen. But that's okay because now they can get married in someplace special -- like the pitcher's mound at Wrigley Field. That is, if Finn and Rachel even make it to their wedding. With her eyes set on New York, Rachel's not looking to compromise with her boyfriend, who's currently California dreamin' with Puck.
Back in the choir room, we find out that Quinn's spine was severely compressed in the car accident, meaning that she can't move her feet or legs. But wait! Quinn says that she's starting to regain feeling, and promises the glee club that she will be dancing on that Nationals stage in no time.
Now that Quinn's in a wheelchair, she's obviously BFFs with Artie.
Of course Artie wants to make sure that Quinn's being realistic, so he tries to show her that being in a wheelchair isn't so bad -- by singing Elton John's "I'm Still Standing." You see, Quinn? Dancing is always more fun when you're in a wheelchair. Well, except for Six Flags, which Artie tells Quinn isn't that much fun at all.
Originally, I thought that they were setting up a potential romance between Quinn and Artie -- because that's just so typical of "Glee" -- but then I realized that Quinn might just be getting it on with teen Jesus, Joe Hart. Oh, high school.
Meanwhile, Blaine's older brother Cooper Anderson comes to town, and he's a bonafide commercial star -- as in, he stars in a lot of commercials. But to everyone in Lima, Ohio, he's pretty much their equivalent of a celebrity. Honestly, I can relate. If I saw this guy on the street, I'd totally ask him to sign my breast too, Sue.
Speaking of Sue, she's once again pro-glee club, but there's always a catch. Roz Washington (NeNe Leakes) has convinced Principal Figgins to let her co-captain the Cheerios with Sue. Naturally, Sue is not happy. So she tells Figgins that she can help the glee club win Nationals -- and their $10,000 prize. If she succeeds, she gets her Cheerios all to herself.
But that's not Sue's only problem. She's definitely pregnant, and there's no amount of "WTF?!" responses that will convince Ryan Murphy and the writers otherwise. Sue's preggers with a baby girl, but that's not all. At her check-up, the doctor tells her that there were some irregularities in her amnio test, meaning that her daughter could very well have Down syndrome.
I've always felt that the relationship between Sue and Becky was one of "Glee's" finest accomplishments. After everything they've done to destroy Jane Lynch's character, seeing Sue interact with Becky always felt very maternal and organic. Hopefully, this is a sign that the two will be spending even more time together in future episodes.
Meanwhile, it turns out that Cooper's idea of great acting is Nicolas Cage. Yeah, Cooper's that kind of character. He also says things like, "Don't be a stranger, follow me on Twitter."
But let's just talk about Matt Bomer. I mean, talk about perfect casting. Okay, so being a "White Collar" fan, I might be just a tiny bit biased, but as far as "Glee" guest stars go, he was definitely one of my favorites. For the first time in a months, I found myself laughing along with "Glee" and not at it. He's no NeNe Leakes, but not everyone can be that fabulous.
Blaine and Cooper's cover of Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know" was definitely the highlight of the episode, despite the fact that the song is actually meant to be sung by two frustrated ex-lovers. But, hey, who cares? Blaine and Cooper obviously don't!
Are we just supposed to believe that high school students in this century know Duran Duran's entire catalogue?
Also, Darren Criss delivered some serious face this episode. In fact, I'm sure Criss didn't intend for all of that face to make it into the final cut of "Fighter," but you can't say that he wasn't trying. Also, he's in the shower singing about his brother. Does anyone else see this hilarity of this?
Boxer Blaine returned this week, and as he was brooding his way down the McKinley halls, all I could think about was how similar it was to Zac Efron's seminal performance of "Scream" in "High School Musical 3: Senior Year." (If you want to smile today, please watch the video below).

Duck-billed dinosaurs that lived within Arctic latitudes approximately 70 million years ago likely endured long, dark polar winters instead of migrating to more southern latitudes, a recent study by researchers from the University of Cape Town, Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas and Temple University has found.
The researchers published their findings, "Hadrosaurs Were Perennial Polar Residents," in the April issue of the journal The Anatomical Record: Advances in Integrative Anatomy and Evolutionary Biology. The study was funded through a grant from the National Science Foundation.
Anthony Fiorillo, a paleontologist at the Museum of Nature and Science, excavated Cretaceous Period fossils along Alaska's North Slope. Most of the bones belonged to Edmontosaurus, a duck-billed herbivore, but some others such as the horned dinosaur Pachyrhinosaurus were also found.
Fiorillo hypothesized that the microscopic structures of the dinosaurs' bones could show how they lived in polar regions. He enlisted the help of Allison Tumarkin-Deratzian, an assistant professor of earth and environmental science, who had both expertise and the facilities to create and analyze thin layers of the dinosaurs' bone microstructure.
Another researcher, Anusuya Chinsamy-Turan, a professor of zoology at the University of Cape Town, was independently pursuing the same analysis of Alaskan Edmontosaurus fossils. When the research groups discovered the similarities of their studies, they decided to collaborate and combine their data sets to provide a larger sampling. Half of the samples were tested and analyzed at Temple; the rest were done in South Africa.
"The bone microstructure of these dinosaurs is actually a record of how these animals were growing throughout their lives," said Tumarkin-Deratzian. "It is almost similar to looking at tree rings."
What the researchers found was bands of fast growth and slower growth that seemed to indicate a pattern.
"What we found was that periodically, throughout their life, these dinosaurs were switching how fast they were growing," said Tumarkin-Deratzian. "We interpreted this as potentially a seasonal pattern because we know in modern animals these types of shifts can be induced by changes in nutrition. But that shift is often driven by changes in seasonality."
The researchers questioned what was causing the dinosaurs to be under stress at certain times during the year: staying up in the polar region and dealing with reduced nutrition during the winter or migrating to and from lower latitudes during the winter.
They did bone microstructure analysis on similar duck-billed dinosaur fossils found in southern Alberta, Canada, but didn't see similar stress patterns, implying that those dinosaurs did not experience regular periodic seasonal stresses. "We had two sets of animals that were growing differently," said Tumarkin-Deratzian.
Since the Alaska fossils had all been preserved in the same sedimentary horizon, Fiorillo examined the geology of the bonebeds in Alaska where the samples were excavated and discovered that these dinosaurs had been preserved in flood deposits.
"They are very similar to modern flood deposits that happen in Alaska in the spring when you get spring melt water coming off the Brooks Mountain Range," said Fiorillo. "The rivers flood down the Northern Slope and animals get caught in these floods, particularly younger animals, which appear to be what happened to these dinosaurs.
"So we know they were there at the end of the dark winter period, because if they were migrating up from the lower latitudes, they wouldn't have been there during these floods," he said.
"It is fascinating to realize how much of information is locked in the bone microstructure of fossil bones," said Chinsamy-Turan. "It's incredible to realize that we can also tell from these 70 million-year-old bones that the majority of the polar hadrosaurs died just after the winter season."

One person was hurt at the GM research site in Michigan during ?extreme testing on a prototype battery? unrelated to the Volt ?or any other production vehicle,? the company said.
An explosion during "extreme battery testing" Wednesday morning of a prototype energy cell at a General Motors battery research facility in Warren, Mich., injured one person and did major structural damage to the building.

At the heart of the explosion was a lithium-ion battery, according to a fire department official cited in local news reports. The morning blast did not, however, involve batteries that power the Chevrolet Volt, the new plug-in hybrid car whose batteries caught fire weeks after a crash test, General Motors said in a statement.
But the flap over the Volt battery fire has left some insiders feeling more than a little peeved and defensive at the amount of news media attention being devoted to what they say is an almost inevitable, if not routine, event in the business of battery research and extreme testing.
"The whole reason they have these labs is precisely to do this kind of aggressive testing ? anticipating the worst thing a consumer could do with this product," says one expert with direct knowledge of the circumstances surrounding the explosion, who asked not to be named. "This is going to turn out to be a mountain out of a mole hill. Yeah, we're doing a lot of testing. That's what we have to do. Sometimes things explode."
?The incident is still under investigation by GM and the Warren authorities," the GM statement said. "Any information or discussion of the nature of the work in the lab or cause of the incident is entirely speculative and cannot be confirmed at this time. The incident was unrelated to the Chevrolet Volt or any other production vehicle. The incident was related to extreme testing on a prototype battery.?
Despite criticism of the Volt by conservative pundits, a follow-up investigation by the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration concluded the new car was no more prone to fire than any other vehicle.
"The debate over batteries recently really hasn't been about safety so much as about their longevity," says Tom Turrentine, director of the plug-in hybrid and electric vehicle research center at the University of California, Davis. "I think we are mostly over the hump with battery safety. But there's no question that battery labs are notorious for explosions when they're testing."
Lithium-ion batteries are attractive to automakers because they can hold so much power ? about four times the amount of energy a conventional lead-acid battery. Even so, earlier lithium-ion batteries used in other commercial applications burst into flame on occasion. Laptop computer manufacturer Dell Computer recalled millions of batteries after a handful of its laptops burst into flames several years ago.

WASHINGTON (AP) ? Republican presidential contenders Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul are vowing to stay in the race even though Rick Santorum is not.
Santorum's departure Tuesday has pushed former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney closer to the nomination. But Gingrich and Paul say there is still time left for voters to pick a more suitable alternative to face President Barack Obama in November.
Paul's campaign says he is "the last ? and real ? conservative alternative" to Romney.
Gingrich took to Twitter to call Santorum's departure "the last stand for conservatives" and to urge supporters to donate to his campaign.
Money is an issue for Gingrich. Utah officials say his campaign's $500 check to get on the ballot for Utah's primary has bounced. His campaign says a new check will be issued.

The Chinese Communist Party suspended high-flying politician Bo Xilai from its inner circle Tuesday following speculation that he is connected to the murder of a British businessman, China?s news agency Xinhua reported.
In addition, Bo?s wife, Gu Kailai, once a celebrated lawyer, was jailed, as was a Zhang Xiajun, who worked in the family?s home, the Guardian of London reported.
Bo, 62, had been suspended from his position as Communist party boss in Chongqing last month after the city?s former police chief defected to the U.S. Consul and alleged that Bo had ties to the murder.
The British businessman, Neil Heywood, was found dead in a hotel room in Chongqing on Nov. 15. At the time, police said he died of alcohol poisoning, but doubts were raised later and the U.K. embassy asked Chinese authorities to investigate further, the BBC reported.
The news agency said that Chinese law enforcement determined that Heywood had been killed and that Gu and Heywood had been fighting over unspecified ?economic interests.?
Days before he was dismissed, Bo said at a news conference that some people were pouring ?filth on my family.? He and his wife later disappeared from public view.
Fall from grace: China leadership contender Bo Xilai sacked
British Foreign Secretary William Hague said Tuesday he welcomed China's announcements on its investigation.
"It is a death that needs to be investigated in its own terms, on its own merits without political considerations," Hague told BBC television.
The decision to banish Bo from the Central Committee and its powerful, 25-member Politburo effectively ends the career of China?s most brash and controversial politician.
Bo and his wife had been called the ?Jack and Jackie Kennedy of China,? according to the BBC. The son of a prominent Communist leader, Bo had steadily climbed the party ranks; observers of Chinese politics believed he would have been a contender when the party chooses its top leadership later this year.
Gu, an accomplished lawyer who also came from an influential Communist family, closed her law practice as her husband became increasingly powerful. In recent years, her health declined, a family friend told the BBC, and she stayed home to read books.
Ed Byrne, an American lawyer from Denver, Colo., told the BBC that when he knew Gu, she was attractive, charismatic and funny.
?They were the modern liberal element there," Byrne said.
