Junior Dos Santos Hopes To Follow In Anderson Silva's Footsteps And Fight In Brazil

Junior Dos Santos Hopes To Follow In Anderson Silva's Footsteps And Fight In Brazil UFC heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos has no issues fighting in California or Las Vegas, but if the UFC offered him a match in Brazil, "Cigano" would jump at the opportunity.

Dos Santos is set to square off with Cain Velasquez on December 29 at UFC 155: Dos Santos vs. Velasquez II from "Sin City." However, if he were to defeat Velasquez a second time, would the Brazilian push for a match in his native country?

"Yeah, I think so, but I don't care about where I'm going to fight," said dos Santos, during a conference call on Wednesday. "To fight in my hometown, or home country, that is going to be great. To get the whole crowd to my side."

UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva recently fought in Brazil, as has UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo. Both are Brazilians, like dos Santos.

The last time dos Santos fought in Brazil was in 2008 when he earned a TKO victory over Geronimo dos Santos. He suffered his lone career loss in Sao Paulo, Brazil in 2007 to Joaquin Ferreira via submission.
