Brief US Presidential Address to the Nation - November 25, 2071
People of America, people of the world: It is my deepest regret to inform you of the grave news I received this morning. A few days ago, scientists across the globe noticed a change in the orbital path of an asteroid known as Sisyphus. It has been expected for years to pass through our planetary neighborhood at a completely safe distance at around this time tomorrow - however, in light of a freak collision, it has been estimated to make impact with our planet Earth in seven days. The damage will be worldwide and catastrophic.
Efforts are being made to preserve some communication in the months to come, however we cannot be sure what will happen. Now is a time to be with our families and loved ones. You will want to get to any kind of fallout shelter you can. Further information will be released through the media as it comes. May God be with us all.
Many governments were torn apart by their citizens. Most police and armed forces remained active, facing the uprise of new gangs and militias. People looted, murdered, committed suicide, and waged war. Chaos and mayhem reigned for one week.
Then on December 2, the Endless Day, Sisyphus struck just off the coast of Argentina. Fire rained down over the Earth, scorching everything and everyone in its path. Most man-made satellites were destroyed or otherwise rendered dysfunctional by the debris from the impact, which also set off worldwide tsunamis and volcanic eruptions. The overall human population would be reduced to 1% over the course of the first day.
In this post-apocalypse, the quickest gun is the law, and the sharpest wit is the ultimate equalizer. Under the black sky, warrior tribes fight for survival; skilled craftsmen sell their trade for the pretty price of sustenance; and for some, existence is driven by more personal matters. Many surprises await the survivors of the Endless Day...
The former town known as Slate, on the East edge of the Rocky Mountain range, has been leveled.
You have survived. Maybe you own a shelter, somehow bought your way into one, or perhaps took it by force. Whatever the means, your survival has only begun. No plant life exists in the wild, nor does much else at all. The extreme heat is letting up after about two days, making it just bearable to go outside. The sky is already blackening for what will be several months of global night under the constant rain of ash and increased UV radiation. Nearly impossible to breath outside without a respirator of some sort, you must prepare for the long impact winter that is to come.
You must get your bearings of the land - quite different from how you left it two days earlier. People are already outside, tromping about the grease-black desert plain - with their gangs, ransacking shelters, setting up camps, protecting their homes. Are you sure you're still safe?
================================
Looking for a few players, no particular roles to be filled. You're all survivors, in or around the small(er) valley town of Slate. I will be playing the part of narrator, mooks and the like.
Add as much or as little information as you like.

Gender:
Appearance: (Picture is fine, words are better)

Bio: (Include where you are and who you're with when the asteroid strikes)
