Main Purpose & Function
The City is seeking a Director of Enterprise Risk Management -Chief Risk Officer (CRO) to develop, implement and manage a framework for Enterprise Risk Management at the City and to lead and facilitate risk management activities across the multiple departments and operations of the City.?The CRO will lead teams of business managers in diverse business areas to assess, evaluate, analyse, manage, and mitigate risk. The CRO will work collaboratively with all business units across the Enterprise through operational functions and corporate level organizations. The CRO will facilitate the City's Risk Management Committee, an executive committee responsiblefor risk management decisions across the enterprise.
Qualifications
Applicants require a university degree specializing in business management; CA or MBA preferred; expertise in risk management practices with certification in risk management preferred. Extensive knowledge in strategic management, risk methodologies and portfolio management with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with management of risk exposures a key part of the role. Proven leadership of large direct and indirect teams within a large and complex organization. Experience in a Chief Risk Officer capacity would be ideal where responsibilities included implementing and managing an Enterprise? Risk Management (ERM) strategy and Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) activities.
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with all levels of staff; excellent communication (oral, written and presentation) skills; the ability to perform complex business and technical analysis and to present them concisely and professionally at an executive level. Results-oriented and innovative.
