Angel Babcock: Tornado-surviving toddler in hospital after family dies
A toddler who was ripped from her home in New Pekin, Ind., and flung into a field by a tornado that killed her entire immediate family in southern Indiana remained in critical condition Sunday, hospital staff said.Angel Babcock, 20 months old, lost her parents, two-month-old sister and three-year-old brother in the storm that swept through Clark County on Friday.
The toddler was found lying under a pile of debris in a field, said hospital staff. The family lived in a trailer home nine kilometres away in Salem.
She was taken first to Indiana?s St. Vincent Salem Hospital before being flown about 55 kilometres southeast to Kosair Children?s Hospital in Louisville, Ky. There are reports she suffered severe head injuries and is on life support.
Members of her extended family are with her at the hospital. more
